Geek Dinner, Nov. 13, Function Brewing

Need a place to show off your Microsoft Fitness Band? Or want a recommendation on HP's new 3D printer? Function Brewing is the place to get your technology fix on Nov. 13th at 5:30, as the geeks of Bloomington will gather for food, drink, and talking technology. If beer is your bag, try one of Function's twelve on tap, but don't be afraid to bring the family along to try a Goombah sandwich or a hot Peter Piper. Geek Dinner, June 3, Irish Lion

With Circle City Con coming up in just a couple of weeks, and Sigma Play just finished, we need to have a Geek Dinner! You'll want to have your Raspberry Pi ready for hacking and be ready to discuss the TrueCrypt audit intelligently. Or if that's not your bag, we'll discuss the new Microsoft Surface and whatever new hardware Apple is announcing at WWDC. Either way, you'll want to come along and enjoy food, drink and talking tech with the geeks of Bloomington.

Eat, drink and talk tech with local Bloomingtonians. Need something to talk about? You are sure to find someone who is up to date on driverless cars, cryptography in handheld devices, 3-D printing, the impact of technology on whale communication, the recent Makevention event, the upcoming DerbyCon or the newest practices in software development.

As far as we know, Max's Place hasn't banned Google Glass yet, so it seems like the ideal place to hold a Geek Dinner! Bring down your high-tech glasses or just your new Chromebook to show off. We'll discuss how bad playing SimCity is and find out what happened at Startup Weekend Terre Haute. Or any other technological topics that have your interest this month.

Since the Mayans have let us down, we're planning a regular set of Geek Dinners for 2013, and we'll start it off with a Geek Sports Dinner at downtown mainstay Opie Taylor's. Have big plans for Facebook's Graph Search? Tell us about it! Want to discuss Aaron Swartz and the freedom of information? Come on down! Or show off your latest gadget, or even the great app you created for that gadget. And afterwards, hang around at Opie's to watch the Hoosiers take on Purdue on the big screen.
