Mother Bear's Geek Dinner

We had around eleven or twelve show up, including at least three couples; wasn't sure if the spouses considered themselves geeks or not :) I was pretty pleased with the numbers, considering how busy everyone it in December, but disappointed in the turnout from the Bloomington community: there were quite a few Envisage employees, but almost everyone else that showed was an IU Informatics grad student. However, Felix and Cathy Wyss had good excuses for not showing, as their first baby was born just two weeks before the dinner!
Congratulations to the Wyss's.

Next time we won't have it so close to the middle of campus to make sure community members can get to the location easily. I'm liking the suggestion of El Norteno right now, but leave any other suggestions you have in the comments! Look for the next dinner in late January.

Mother Bear's it is!

Five votes for Mother Bear's and five votes for "Somewhere Else" but I never heard any suggestions as to where else it could be! So Mother Bear's it is. I think we have around five confirmed with another seven tentatives. My only issue is that I'm really not sure how to call a restaurant and ask for a reservation for between six and twenty :)

But we'll figure something out. If you're planning on coming and you haven't confirmed directly to me or on Facebook yet, please drop me a note...also, if I'm spamming you with email and driving you crazy, drop me a note and let me know that too :) I'll get you off the list.
