Geek Dinner, October 18th, Sproutbox

We're back to Sproutbox for our long-overdue first Geek Dinner of the fall. Have a good time at the Combine? Want to discuss the strategies used at the Dev Derby? Or maybe you're interested in a Google TV or wondering how the IU football team is getting its action filmed in 3D?

Or, if you're sneaky, you might have a chance to pitch your great product idea to the SproutBox brain trust - they are an elite crew of product developers, creatives and business experts that invest talent in startup companies with high growth potential, and are generously opening their offices for an evening to the community.

Geek Dinner, Aug 2nd, Sweet Grass

Okay, so a little thunder and lightning kept you away from our last geek dinner. C'mon, what's a tornado or two between friends? (OK, I actually didn't show up either. If you did, hope you had a good time!) But now it's time to make that one up by driving a little south to Sweet Grass.

Sweet Grass is a relatively new Bloomington offering that brings South Carolina style fried green tomatoes and shrimp po'boys to town. But the highlight isn't on the food, we know, but talking tech - and Bloomington is offering a lot of chances to talk tech these days - the Bloomington Technology Partnership is rolling, The Combine is coming in September, and TedX Bloomington is on the way next year!

Geek Dinner, June 15th, Max's Place

Stayed in Bloomington for the summer and suffering from technology withdrawal? Never fear, it's time for another Geek Dinner! Max's Place has a nice variety of sandwiches, pizza and some good beer to enjoy while you discuss technology. Writing the next great iPad app? Or has AT&T's new pricing plans forced you over to the Android market? Maybe you're bypassing all of the mobile applications in favor of the new Silverlight release.

Geek Dinner, Apr. 5th, Envisage

Another local tech company has generously agreed to support a Geek Dinner. Envisage Technologies is a local software company specializing in training management, resource optimization, for law enforcement and military organizations. (It's also the company I work for, BTW) . Recently Envisage has moved to new offices in Fountain Square Mall, and they've invited us in to see them for this month's dinner. Envisage's new digs in Fountain Square Mall are in Suite 200, on the second floor at the far west side of the building. Come by the Envisage offices for pizza, drinks, and talking technology with the geeks of Bloomington.

Geek Dinner, Feb. 3rd, Irish Lion

And we're back once again for our first Geek Dinner of the new decade. The Irish Lion has a fascinating variety of traditional Irish food, which should go nicely with a contemporary discussion of the latest gadgets, platforms, and coding strategies. Bring along that new Kindle, or debate whether writing a Droid app is easier or harder than writing one for the iPhone. Tell us which way you roll!
